Short Sharp Stories is a programme of literary events, workshops and writers’ residencies in Arbroath, launching The New Scriptorium in Arbroath Abbey. From the historic whisper of medieval publication to the cacophony of contemporary communication, this programme will inspire new writing for Arbroath and Angus.
The New Scriptorium is a new public artwork by Bobby Niven sited in the grounds of Arbroath Abbey. The work, this little building, takes inspiration from the scriptorium or library that would have been part of the original abbey complex and will be the home of a programme of work celebrating the power of literacy and the written word.
